The Ski Pad enables patients or residents to be evacuated comfortably and safely down stairways in the event of an emergency evacuation. The tough slippery vinyl coated base material enables patients to be moved easily over virtually any surface - indoors or outside - and the 51mm (2 Inch) thick foam pad gives protection from bumps and bruises. Its narrow width and flexibility allow it to slide through standard doorways, along twisting corridors and down narrow winding fire escapes without the risk of blocking the escape route or the need for heavy lifting. In an emergency, the Ski Pad is quickly and easily removed from its store bag. Once the patient is in place, the belts are fastened to secure and cocoon them. They can then be dragged to safety. The Ski Pad can be mounted to the wall in wards or at the head of staircases ready for immediate use in an emergency.
